Aside from a fewer number of Secret Invasion tie-ins, there is as much, if not more stuff to be excited about next week, including Geoff Johns' new DC-righting opus, Legion of Three Worlds!
If you haven't been in this week, then you probably don't know that in just a day and a half we sold out of Secret Invasion X-Men #1, Secret Invasion Inhumans #1, and Secret Invasion Thor #1. Lucky for you, I got a handful more of each title last night, but they're already moving, so get back to us as soon as possible!
Also, there are a half dozen folks looking to make major moves on the next shipment of drawer boxes, which should arrive next Thursday or Friday. If you need in on them, again, let us know ASAP so you're not left out in the cold!
Before we get to more fun stuff, I have to say that if you haven't heard, music producer Jerry Finn passed away Tuesday at the age of 38. During my formative years, I couldn't pick up an album without seeing his name on it, most notably on blink-182's Enema of the State, the Mark, Tom, and Travis Show, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, and untitled album, Green Day's Dookie and Insomniac, Fenix TX's self-titled album and Lechuza, MxPX's Ever Passing Moment and Ten Years and Running, Boxcar Racer's self-titled album, +44's When Your Heart Stops Beating, Alkaline Trio's From Here to Infirmary, Good Mourning, and Crimson, and Eisley's Room Noises. He also worked with AFI, Jawbreaker, Morrissey, the Offspring, Bad Religion, the Vandals, Rancid, and more. Without him, I doubt I would play guitar or have a soundtrack to my life.
Stephen's So-Called Emo Life!
- Mark Millar, Tony Harris, and Tommy Lee Edwards signing at Heroes - this Sunday from 2-5 PM. Break out your 1985 covers, your Starman Omnibi, your Ultimates hardcovers, and whatever else you've got by these three comic superstars and head down to Heroes Aren't Hard to Find in Charlotte to get them signed and grab some face time. And don't forget to tell them what store you're coming from!
- Tropic Thunder - the new flick with Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr. (in blackface). The more I thought about it, the less funny it sounded, but I'm hearing good things about Downey Jr., and I can't ask for much more than that. Probably good for a matinee.
- D2: the Mighty Ducks - completely holds up, and will surely be the source of the next big internet phenomena. Stay tuned to this blog, the board, and the rest of the world wide web for developments. Also, lobby your local Blockbuster to bring the Mighty Ducks and D3 back in stock. Where would Empire Strikes Back be if you didn't have the chance to see A New Hope or Return of the Jedi!?
