Thanks to everyone that's come by to help out readying the books for Free Comic Book Day! It's been a truly overwhelming bunch of orders lately, but the folks that plant their butts in a seat with a stamp in their hands make everything that much more manageable!
Now the real fun starts...BAG STUFFING!
Stephen's So-Called Emo Life!
- Lou Malnati's - I can now forget completely about Giordano's. Lou's is still a chain with 12 locations in the Chicagoland area, but it's amazing! I described it on Twitter as Pizza Hut, if it were made of gold. Great ambiance, too. When we walked in, I thought we were going to be paying $20 each, not the $20 for the four of us that it ended up being.
- Hot Doug's - 30 minute taxi ride out to north Chicago. Hour long wait outside the door, just hoping they wouldn't cut off the line for the day before we got our food. 45 minute ride back to the convention center through rush hour traffic. WORTH IT!
- West Egg - definitely the find of the trip. Adrian spotted it as we were about to hit up Einstein Bros. bagels for the second morning in a row. Instead, I was treated to excellent service, raisin french toast, strawberry compote and great coffee.
- Pizzeria Due - the second location of the original Pizzeria Uno, right across the street! They obviously know how to manage their fame as they have their ordering and seating procedures down to a science.
